Earlier, two expelled Congress leaders and an Independent leader had moved the apex court on 29 July. Three ex-JD(S) MLAs have filed a joint petition challenging the 28 July decision of disqualification by KR Ramesh Kumar, who resigned on Monday as Speaker of the House. Other ex-Congress MLAs who have approached the apex court are - Prathap Gouda Patil, BC Patil, Shivaram Hebbar, ST Somashekar, Byrathi Basavaraj, Munirathna.
